Team Projects

Working as part of a team is a unique experience, and I have been privileged to be involved in a few fascinating projects.

I helped the Griffins team build a robot for the First Robotics Competition. We worked together on two different kicking mechanisms. The idea I proposed, which is based on freewheel mechanism, did work but unfortunately it was too late to implement it into the final version of the robot. :(

It was a very interesting experience to be part of a team building a robot for the First Robotics competition, which is an international robotics competition for high school kids. I joined a UK team named the Griffins (1884), which is a joint venture between an American private school (ASL), and Quintin Kynaston (QK), a technology specialist comprehensive school in St. Johns Wood, London, UK. My role was to use my experience to help the team with brainstorming and ideas. We went to Washington DC with the robot, though unfortunately did not won as the competition was stiff between teams; still, our robot was recognized by many as one of the best!! We even had a suspension system ;)

Year 2005-2006 was a very successful time as we finally built the first Israeli Race Car made from Magnesium. Unfortunately, we did not secure adequate sponsorship to compete and race on an international scale … which really is a pity.

Year 2004-2005 was partially successful: We learned a lot but achieved little, as it was near impossible to work around Israeli bureaucracy. Nevertheless, you must see our calculations! It was a breathtaking experience to calculate a race car performance without any previous knowledge in cars…who said there is no car manufacturing in Israel?
